FirstOnSite Supports Spirit of Newfoundland during RIMS Canada 2018 Conference
We are pleased to announce our campaign to support fundraising efforts to restore St. John’s Masonic Temple which these days is home to Spirit of Newfoundland, one of Newfoundland’s most successful musical theatre and performance companies. We have created a matching GoFundMe page to help the company to fund the restoration of the beloved heritage building located in St. John’s.
Attendees of the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) Canada conference are invited to visit the heritage building and check out the beautiful architecture. FirstOnSite has committed to match all donations up to $5,000.
Built in 1894, the Masonic Temple exemplifies Victorian architecture, featuring four performance rooms (each with its own piano), a large pipe organ, numerous historic symbols, as well as artistic and creative inspiration for the local performing arts community. As an integral part of the community it also hosts many local association events as well as weddings, birthday’s and recitals. The heritage building has faced 125 years of Newfoundland’s harsh climate, requiring restoration to make it usable and return it to its former glory.
“Supporting Spirit of Newfoundland in its efforts was an easy decision,” said Dave Demos, Chief Executive Officer, FirstOnSite Restoration. “FirstOnSite has a commitment to restoration of all types of homes and businesses, including buildings of an historic nature. Combine that with our interest in supporting community activities made this initiative an exciting one.”
