FirstOnSite Leadership Team in Ontario Gets Stronger

We are pleased to announce the growth of the FirstOnSite leadership team in Ontario. Kim Dickson has been promoted to acting Branch Manager for Mississauga and Scarborough, Matt Brooks has been promoted to acting Branch Manager in North Bay, Melissa Lundy has been promoted to Branch Manager in London and David Goetz has returned to the organization, taking on the role of Branch Manager in Kitchener/Guelph.

These roles build upon our strong foundation in Ontario and strengthen our capacity to provide exceptional experience to our customers throughout the province.

Each of our new Branch Managers brings years of industry experience with them – most of them with our organization directly,” says Dave Demos, CEO, FirstOnSite Restoration. “They have grown with us, and us with them. Their vast knowledge of our people and our industry will play a key role in our success and continued growth.”

Kim has more than 15 years experience in financial and operational management, 10 of which have been with FirstOnSite. In 2008, she oversaw the financial operations of four branches in the Eastern Ontario District. After leaving for a year, she returned in 2013 as Operations and Performance Manager for Ontario. During that time, she oversaw on-the-ground operations for the Fort McMurray Wildfire CAT, as well as flooding in Windsor and ice/water storms and windstorms throughout the GTA. Her deep understanding of operations, combined with her commitment to communication, will contribute to managing her branches and elevating the customer experience.

Motivation and teamwork help fuel success. I believe trust and communication play an important role in building that strong, motivated team that will help us rise to the top. I feel very lucky to be part of such a great team here in the GTA and cannot wait to share in their success.”

Matt has been involved in the restoration industry since 1996. He has been a project manager since 2006, and joined FirstOnSite in this capacity in 2014. Recently he managed an extensive smoke and fire loss to a historic 1906 bank building in North Bay’s downtown. The project involved gutting most of the building, new HVAC system with heated floors and bringing back a hidden 28-foot barrelled ceiling. His technical and practical knowledge of restoration issues, combined with his innate desire to help people, will assuredly elevate both the business and the customer experience.

It was probably the most exciting job I have done yet. I thoroughly enjoy working in the restoration industry and being able to help people in a time of need. As I tell a lot of our clients, it’s a heck of way to meet people but people are always happy they did.”

Melissa started with FirstOnSite nearly 12 years ago, and has graduated through various roles to Branch Manager. She has worked a variety of CATs throughout her career, including mobilizing to Fort McMurray in 2016 where she ran a large loss factory clean that was over $400,000. She also has completed a number of environmental projects, including a large asbestos/mould commercial project at a retail bank customer in downtown Windsor. Her extensive experience and commitment to customer service will prove to be a tremendous asset to her teams, clients and end users.

My goals for our branch are straightforward: expand the branch and increase our business. Focus on increasing our customer service levels. Increase our score cards for our program work.”

David has worked in restoration since 2000 with one of FirstOnSite’s founding companies. He worked in various roles throughout the organization, including being promoted to project manager in 2011. He left to join Contractor Connection, first as District Manager and later as National Quality Appraiser. After four years, David returned to FirstOnSite this July. His understanding of our business and people will help with managing the business and providing the best customer experience possible.

The key to success is communication and team work. I am very excited to have such a great team to work with, and about the future success of the Kitchener and Guelph locations.”
