30 Years with FirstOnSite
On February 8th, 2012 Dora Serrao celebrated a milestone. It was her 30th anniversary at FirstOnSite.
Dora has seen the company grow from 5 employees to over 80 in her branch alone. She has seen her company go from being a strong Quebec based business to becoming an important constituent of a national organization. And she has grown from working as a receptionist/assistant to office manager and on to supervisory roles in accounting where she is today.
She recalls her first days.
30 years ago we worked out of the second floor of a two story house. Later we moved to a new location and when we became FirstOnSite we moved into the offices on Guthrie where we are today.”
For over 30 years the evolution of the company also paralleled her path from a newly graduated single woman, to a married woman, and on to becoming a mother of two. It has been like a family, she says. Originally hired by Barry J. Ross, currently the leader of FirstOnSite’s Commercial Large Loss Division and one of the original owner / members of FirstOnSite, she continues to work with him today out of the Dorval office.
“Dora has been significant to us both professionally and personally for 30 years now, and we are lucky to have her on board with us as we continue along this journey,” says Barry.
