Cleaning up After Vancouver Riots
The Vancouver Canuck’s defeat in the final game of the Stanley Cup resulted in a riot in the city’s downtown core. One of the looters’ targets was retail landmark The Hudson’s Bay Company on Granville Street.
FirstOnSite crews are already on-hand with more than 40 workers on the ground since 4am Thursday morning cleaning up the damage.
According to Joseph DeAngelis, Vice President and General Manager of FirstOnSite’s BC region,
The ground floor of the Hudson’s Bay Company received extensive damage. Rioters had smashed glass, set off fire extinguishers and activated the fire sprinklers, leaving the department store in a soaking mess.
One of the many messages left by Vancouver residents on the boarded-up windows of their downtown.
