About Us
Ken Woodhouse, President – Southern Ontario Region
Head Office of FirstOnSite Restoration – Southern Ontario Region is based in Kitchener, Ontario.
Ken Woodhouse is responsible for all aspects of the business within the Southern Ontario Region and is a member of the Board of Directors of FirstOnSite Restoration L.P. Ken brings to FirstOnSite 27 years’ experience at the helm of what was formally Woodhouse Contracting Ltd.
Founded as an aluminum siding installation business by Ken’s father, Woodhouse Contracting Ltd. expanded throughout the mid-1980s into the more stable commercial and insurance restoration environments. Driving the company’s growth, Ken led the computerization of job management, sales management and finance, thus positioning Woodhouse Contracting as a technological leader in the insurance restoration field.
After opening full service branches in Brantford and Guelph, Ken shifted focus towards acquisitions and between 1995 and 2000 retained the services DG Dickson, P&K Restorations and Skarratt’s. These acquisitions allowed Woodhouse Contracting to become Ontario’s largest independent insurance restoration provider.
In 1998, Ken was named “National Ambassador for Fire Safety.”
Kim Stemmler, CA, Director of Finance
Kim Stemmler is the Director Finance for the Southern Ontario Region. Her responsibilities include overseeing the finance department for the region and working as a part of the local management team. Kim originally started with Woodhouse Contracting Ltd. back in 1992 and worked in a variety of administrative and finance positions before leaving to pursue her CA designation.
She worked in public accounting for 10 years, assisting a variety of clients with financial reporting and tax planning. Kim re-joined the Southern Ontario Region in November 2006. Kim obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University and her Chartered Accountant designation in 1998.
Marg Gallinger, Human Resources Manager
Marg Gallinger is responsible for Human Resources/Health and Safety for the Southern Ontario Region. She joined FirstOnSite Restoration in November 2007 and has over 25 years of experience in Human Resources, including running her own Human Resources business.
Marg has held many different positions throughout her career starting out in accounting later moving in the direction of Human Resources Generalist as well as Training and Development and Recruitment. Marg has always played a major role in Health and Safety. Marg holds a Certified Human Resource Professional Degree from the University of Guelph and has her C.H.R.P. designation.
Harry Kozak, Regional Operations Manager
Harry joined FirstOnSite in the spring of 2006 and is currently responsible for developing and overseeing operational policy for the Southern Ontario Region. Functional areas include purchasing, fleet, equipment, content handling, as well as daily operational procedures. Along with various industry training courses, Harry is also IICRC certified in WRT and ASD.
Harry has an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and in 2006 received his MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University. Before joining FirstOnSite he held various positions in industrial sales and marketing including U.S. Sales Manager and Canadian Marketing Manager. Harry and his wife Cheryl spend much of their spare time at various arenas and sporting fields supporting their two active sons.
Bill Bradley, Regional Director of Business Development
Bill Bradley is responsible for Business Development in Ontario. Bill has been with FirstOnSite Restoration since 2004. He has held positions in operations and marketing over his tenure as well as currently the Team Lead for the Business Development Team for the Southern Ontario Region as well as the Quality Assurance Team.
Bill received his Bachelor of Arts (History & English) from Wilfrid Laurier University (WLU) in 1998. In 2007, he completed His Risk Management Certification (CRM) from WLU as well. Bill is also one of 5 Directors involved in organizing and running a weekend event, during Kitchener-Waterloo’s Annual Oktoberfest, which raises over $50,000 for local charities. Bill has been a member of the Organizing Committee of the Ontario General Insurance Hockey Tournament and will be the Co-Chair in 2010 – 2012.
Beverly A. Wood, Executive Assistant
Beverly Wood is the Executive Assistant to the President of the Southern Ontario Region – Ken Woodhouse, and provides administrative support to Southern Ontario’s Management Team. Beverly joined FirstOnSite Restoration in August 2008 and has over 22 years of experience in Administration and Management.
Beverly has held Administration and Management positions within the Insurance Industry as well as Accounting. She is also one of 5 Directors involved in organizing and running a weekend event, during Kitchener-Waterloo’s Annual Oktoberfest, which raises over $50,000 for local charities. She is an active member with Scouts Canada and was awarded Scouts Canada Commemorative Centennial Medal in March 2008.
Doug Woodhouse, General Manager Kitchener District
Doug Woodhouse has been with the company since 1983 and has previously held positions of Project Manager, Senior Project Manager and District Manager. As General Manager Doug is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Central District (Kitchener, Guelph, Orangeville, Stratford and Southampton) as well as aligning strategic direction to meet Corporate goals and objectives.
In addition to spending time with his family Doug enjoys being an owner of Standardbred horses and is a keen soccer player, establishing and playing on the FirstOnSite Restoration team! Doug is also certified by the IICRC in Water Restoration.
Dan Loosemore, General Manager Hamilton District
Dan Loosemore has been with the company since 2002 and has previously held positions of Project Manager and Director of Marketing. As General Manager Dan is responsible for the day-to-day operations of his district (Hamilton, Mississauga, Brantford, Brantford CO2 Blast, Toronto East, and St. Catharines) as well as aligning strategic direction to meet Corporate goals and objectives.
Jason Prescott, General Manager Belleville District
Jason Prescott is General Manager for the Eastern District and is responsible for managing the day to day operations in Belleville, Kingston, Brockville and Bancroft, as well as aligning strategic direction to meet Corporate goals and objectives. Jason joined the Firstonsite team in December of 2008.
Jason brings over 17 years hands-on experience in the insurance industry. His time with General Maintenance Contractors encompassed all aspects of the restoration business, in 1996 joining the management team as a Junior Estimator, then finally in 1998, becoming General Manager for the 4 branches. He is IICRC certified in water, mould, fire and odour, and applied structural drying.
Marc Lalonde, General Manager London District
Marc Lalonde is the General Manager for the London District and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of his district (London and Chatham) as well as aligning strategic direction to meet corporate goals and objectives.
Marc’s early working years were spent in their Strathroy family owned restaurant and catering business. In 1977 he started to work in the construction industry and in 1986 started his own business MJL Contracting Services Ltd., later merging with SCS Southwest Inc. in 2005 to form MJL/SCS Disaster Kleenup. Prior to selling to FirstOnSite Restoration in 2008, Marc sat on the Board of Directors of Disaster Kleenup Canada.
